closing celebration
just got home an hour ago from the final celebration for the Haraya 2006. we had the inauguration of the Juguilon Hall Buildings 1 and 2, and the anything-goes show of the Arki students which coincided with the Alumni Homecoming. edpat and i went back and forth on both buildings, to sell stuff on the first, and jam with the band on the second.
twas really a fun fun night. aside from selling AF shirts, we've had the chance to talk to some of the AF alumni, and get their contacts for the upcoming 25th year celebration of the org. we were also recognized by tita anna (AF founding member) during the program proper because we have raised some money as donation to their Blitz book drive, with the Arki Library as its beneficiary. on the other hand, we had some tequila and beer while rocking and jamming with our fellow arki students on the other building, and had a lot of picture taking. haha.
but as Haraya comes to a close, it means back to normal arki life. plates, esquisses, exams, papers... can i even still consider it normal? haha. this past whole week was like a happy and eventful dream for all of us, away from arki subjects and academic stress (we've had stress this week but it was because we had fun)... and tomorrow, we'll wake up and probably realize that we still have so much to do before the school year ends.
anyway, since i'm already talkin' about this past week's series of events, might as well add something to your info database (haha). the late former dean, Aurelio Juguilon, whom the buildings were named after, is actually my grandfather. we're not directly related, but he's my grandma's cousin. her name's maria juguilon zabala, and i'm john jason zabala molina.
that's why when the inauguration was being held, i kept on wondering if some Juguilon relative would come. actually, i think i saw some of them, coz they were looking at lolo's picture differently, as if they were attached to it or something. i dunno. and when i was inside the research room, i saw a piece of paper with a name of a Juguilon person written on it.
so i guess there really were Juguilon people that time. we may not be directly related anymore, but i'm still proud that our lolo is called the Father of UP Architecture. i took a picture of his photograph at the dean's gallery, coz i'm gonna show it to lola. i know she'll be proud of her cousin.
anyway, off topic: i can't believe ayla brown (my crush!) got the boot on american idol. i mean, i also like melissa (they're both in the bottom two), but i think ayla deserves the final slot more than she does. same with gedeon, though i don't like him at all, i believe he's more talented than some of the guys that were put into the final 12.
oh well. can't do anything about it. that's how america voted.
and... damn heart.
