first 2007 day

and so the first day of 2007 is almost over. and this is my first post for this year. haha.

what did i do? well, since i went to bed around 4 in the early morning already, i woke up a few minutes before 12 noon. had brunch (the media noche leftovers), and went straight to the study table to finish sir litonjua's take-home esquisse for our construction subject (that's because justin and i joined the carolfest and missed the in-class esquisse).

hmm. as people say, what you do on the first day, you'll be doing a lot for the rest of the year. haha. so does this mean i'll be studious for the entire 2007? please please, i hope it's true. coz i just realized, we'll be starting with thesis this coming june. waah.

and after finishing the esquisse, with all the computations and stuff, i then proceeded to reading for our arch 160 (law) report this COMING THURSDAY. ulp. haven't done anything for that yet, so help us God. haha. but a few minutes after reading a few words, i took a break, and watched Zathura on DVD.

the people here kinda lost track of time, so we hurried to the church to catch the 5:30 mass. my folks decided to watch a movie after, and i joined them instead of going home early to do homework. it's still vacation anyway. right? haha.

so there. that was my day. first day of 2007 to be exact.

on other news, i've fulfilled my resolution for 2006. i remember edpat and i talk about it during the last few weeks of 2005, and i had doubts about accomplishing it. but hey, here i am. haha. the whole 2006 has passed, and i sticked to that resolution. hmm. i wonder, what's it gonna be for 2007?

after two summers of not being around (because i was in the US), i'm finally staying here this coming summer. yipee. it means more beach and trips with my friends, plus summer class (again) and summer job (hopefully). but on the flipside of this, i'll be alone here when that time comes. my tito, tita and cousin are gonna migrate to the US this april, and lola's gonna join and stay with them for the entire summer break. weird, just when i'm here again for summer (after skipping two summers), everybody's out of the country. sucks.

alright, time to do schoolwork. haha. be studious, jas. i wish.

HAPPY 2007 to everyone!!! it's gonna be another rollercoaster ride.

as 2006 ends

yes, i'm back. back here after four months since my last entry. it's funny to think that i've been online most of the time, yet i haven't put anything in here for quite a while.

well, let me see... ah. i'm starting to hear lots and lots of noise from fireworks. coz in a short while, it's time to say goodbye to yet another jam-packed year, that is 2006. it sure has been a crazy rollercoaster, full of its ups and downs. and since this is the last day, the 31st, it's time again to reflect on my 365-day journey (actually, i've just finished reading my 2005 recap entry. see my archives! :p).

so here goes.

january started kinda off. i had flu with bodyaches for the first two weeks and had a major heartbreak right after. how nice. so obviously, i was kinda lost and disoriented, yet i managed to put my life back on track. well, that's how life is. we still have to move on even though lots of crap happen around us.

when school was about to end for summer break, i found myself caught again in an emotional phase. it was time for me to prepare myself to go back to the US, and leave people here again. but on the bright side of it was that i'll be able to see my family.

and so i went back to the US this past summer to get reunited with them. my mom, dad and sister brought me to so many places, bought and gave me so many things, like they haven't seen me for ten years. and i felt like i was kinda spoiled, but then it was so good. haha. those two months with them made me realize more that i've missed them so much after being away for a long time.

i came back here the second day of june. i remember giving missed calls to some people that time, tricking them because they didn't know that i'd be back that day. and to make things more exciting, i went to batangas for a beach getaway with my arki 2002 friends the day right after that, with all the jetlag and stuff. and when i went back to manila, i got my car Pesto. :D

and then we went back to arki acads mode again. but that time, most of my subjects were already fourth year level ones, which i took with arki 2003 people. i've strengthened bonds with some friends there and was able to create lots of friendships with new people i've met in the batch. but on the flipside of this is that i somehow lost my link with my former batchmates. i don't get to talk to them that much anymore, though there’s a few left that i keep in touch with (you know who you are guys, and thanks for that).

as arki life continued, so did my arki forum life. i've become closer to some people, most especially to my batchmates mark, mary, shayne, jika, agnes, jb and xtian, and friends like edpat, loz, dax, jaypee, bea, jon, kim, anj and leni. i've even made friends from the first year batch like fae, tom, keith, joe, lando and mike. arki forum's 25th year anniversary went well, despite all those bits of issues and stuff. everybody had a blast, and i'm proud to say, being the vice chairperson, that arki forum has gone a long long way. yeyo to the 11 new members, and kudos to AF!!!

other than my arki 2003 batch and new af people, i've met more and more new friends from everywhere like julian, my arkaira dance group buddy, and ayit and lou. and of course, people from UAPSA-UP, the new org in the college, where i'm one of the founding members. haha. :)

but on the other hand, i've lost some people along the way too. what hurts more is that i couldn't do anything to bring them back. it feels so bad up till now, and worse when i recall all the fun times i’ve spent with them. oh well… there were times that i've been emotionally way too low like the past sembreak... but hey, maybe our paths will cross again some time. all i have to do now is just wait. and wait. and wait...

our lolo alex passed away last september. all our relatives from the US came back here to see him for the last time. i saw my sister and mom again, and mom stayed here till the second week of december. and so, we had the first Christmas without lolo, and we're celebrating new year's eve later without him. it feels way different, but at least we know that he's here with us in spirit.

november was like the peak of the fourth year peoples' bonding experiences. haha. we went to tomatokick, brother's, mini-stop and many more places, and have done so many things that've made us all stick to one another more than before. all those sessions we've had strengthened our bonds, really. these went on until the last day of 2006 classes, and i'm pretty sure were looking forward to more of these in 2007. haha!

and lastly, december was actually a great month. i was part of the arki chorale which placed third at the university-wide carolfest. that was so fun. though the mess-up is that the annual lantern parade didn't happen due to the approval of UP's tuition fee increase. and of course, there were lots of parties i went to like the one at anj's, and the batangas holiday beach getaway which took place just this past 28 and 29.

and lastly... i got my faery... :)

so there. that was my 2006. crazy, wild, happy, sad, exciting, thrilling, dramatic, emotional, and all that. all things that happened during the past whole year have taught us a lot of lessons in life.

and thanks to everybody who've been a part of it. see you all again in the next year to come. 2007 would be my last full year here in the philippines, since i'm going back to the US for good on 2008, so i better make sure that things will go right... and of course, that all of us will have a blast!

cheers to 2007!!! i wish us all the best. :)

august

august is almost over and i haven't had the time, energy and EFFORT to create even a single post here. haha. been busy for the past weeks, but nevertheless happy, considering that despite all the crappy things that occured, great moments also came, which are all worthy to be kept and constantly remembered.

the start of the month was way too off for me, for i had to get through an exam-report-ultra-marathon: chem 1 exam, STS exam, STS report, arch 176 report, LA 10 exam... all within a week. and of course during those times, we were quite occupied with our preparations for Arki Forum's 25th Year Celebration, which took place the week after that.

and oh yeah, even though we were all stressed out working for AF Week, everything sure paid off. every activity went well, and everybody had fun. the best event of them all was the Meriendahan, which culminated the whole week's celebration, because most of us current members did our part, and many past members of the organization came, even some founders. it was a memorable night for us, because chances of old and present members gathering and interacting with each other happens, well, once in a blue moon i guess.

and then, more stress the week after (again), which was actually Arki Week 2006. and again, all the effort put into org work produced great results. our Hiyas ng Arki contestants placed 1st and 3rd, most of the other awards went to Arki Forum, and above them all, we were awarded the BEST ORGANIZATION for Arki Week 2006!!!

that's two consecutive great weeks for us!

so there. august was like the most tiring month for me, and other AFers as well... but accomplishing a lot of great things and having good results in the end make us say to ourselves,

"WE DID IT, UP ARCHITECTURE FORUM!!!"

reunited

i woke up this morning with a smile on my face. my two best friends and i finally had the chance to hang-out just last night. we met up at ortigas, and landed at greenbelt in makati. so great. :)

the last time i saw dino was around half a year ago, when both of us were still in college. he graduated this past summer, and now working at HP in ortigas (he's leaving for singapore tomorrow, that's why i've thought of us having dinner before he flies). on the other hand, rika and i haven't seen each other for quite a while too, since our schedules at school don't jive, plus, uh, some more complicated things. hahaha.

as the three of us were having conversations while eating, i've realized that some things have changed since the last time we've been together. we weren't that uber close anymore like before, but hey, at least we still manage to communicate with each other even just on text. plus we've promised to ourselves that we'll hang more often in the next months, so it's all good. :)

it actually felt good that we've once again had the opportunity to catch up with each others lives and had all those reminiscing and such, though the night was cut short because dino had to go home to laguna, and rika has a daily curfew, as imposed by her parents. but twas still an evening we won't forget, since it's the first time this year that we've been able to do something we've used to do a lot before. missed that a lot. :)

nothing much on a weekend

gaaah. haven't posted for the past two weeks. haha.

first things first, the previous entry's issue's already been resolved. and i'm glad we sort of patched things up, though we haven't seen each other for so long already.

***

anyway, as the title puts, nothing much happened to me this weekend. i basically stayed home, except that yesterday, we did some repairing of Pesto (my Green Honda Civic), coz i'll be driving with some of my Arki Forum friends to Pampanga the next weekend, and went to Freedom Bar in the evening to watch the band Mana (Foom, Errol, etc.) perform. that time, i wasn't with the usual set of people i go to gimmicks with, but still, i enjoyed their company and we all had a great night. i guess it's about time i connect with more Arki people. hehe.

and it's been raining all day today, so i've spent most of the time lying on my bed. tried to do some school-related stuff, but didn't happen coz laziness hit me so hard, and probably because there are no classes in UP tomorrow due to the SONA. yebah.

***

and to update you guys about the past two weeks that i haven't blogged about, well, i'll start with Arki Forum. we have more than 20 applicants, and most of them seem okay... way too okay! the freshies are so full of energy, and they're so fun to talk to. the tambayan's alive once again, back to its crowded and lively state. some even went beyond 20 hours of tambay for the past week... ADDICTS! :p but seriously, i'm sensing that this batch of applicants (silver, that is, since it's the 25th year) will be the next big thing of the organization. the new blood of AF.

i REALLY hope so. i'm putting my faith in them. :)

and AF's 25th year anniversary in 3 WEEKS!!! aaaaah! we still don't have funds for the week-long celebration. we're having a hard time getting sponsors, so we've already asked some alumni for their assistance. i hope they respond... all of us can feel the pressure now, and it's so intense!!! honestly, i'm getting so nervous about this... oh well.

anyway, that's AF for now. as for my acads, my to-do list is already filled with sooooo many tasks. tons of work are piled up, that i don't even know where to begin. gaaah. this is killing me. worse, i have the CHEM 1 exam on the 9th of august, STS exam on the 10th, and LA 10 on the 11th!!! not to mention AF week starts on the 12th!!!

BOO.

***

and on to the serious thing.

i've been feeling so low for the past days due to a BIG dillema. the thing is, not much people notice it coz i've been trying to hide it from them. they see me smile and laugh most of the time, but they just don't know that i'm full of problems right now.

God, what did i do to deserve this?

have to think and decide... fast.

***

rain, rain, go away, you really make me sleep all day...
