arki life

yesterday's family, now's school.

i thought sixteen academic units would be easy enough for me. and now i'm dead sick with requirements here and there, yada yada... just like last tuesday, we had our second exam in arch 27 (the equivalent of engg's dreaded es 13). i have a very strong feeling that i'm gonna fail that exam right after sir nolido said "times up" and we had to pass our papers already. it was so disappointing coz i know that i've studied well (sort of), but maybe it wasn't enough. not to mention monday night, rap (my friend and groupmate) stayed overnight here in our house because we had to finish a case study report for arch 55.

talk about multi-tasking. and so i didn't get to take a good rest before i went straight to arch 27 and took that damn exam.

argh. it's over. i shouldn't feel bad and be depressed about it anymore. i just need to make sure that i will pass the third and fourth exam. i wish.

and as i was saying, arch 55... i did something wrong. very wrong. i'll just keep it to myself (plus some of my friends whom i have told about it already). i promise not to do that stupid mistake anymore.

arch 136 and 143 are the most boring subjects this semester. enough said. i'm sure all (or almost) of my classmates agree with me. right?

arch 161... so far so good. it's just that sir silvestre asked each group a progress report about our case study, and our group is the only one who hasn't done anything yet. haha. we'll start this saturday.

pan pil 19 is just full of group reportings lately. we were the first to report so we don't have to worry about it anymore till all the groups are done. sir turgo's discussions are all okay, but the reports sometimes bore me.

i guess i haven't forgotten any subject. all i can say is that this semester is very busy, but academic-wise, very boring. not much very interesting subject.

and the fun part...

ARKI FORUM!!!

my arki life won't be complete without this org. hehe... the application process is ongoing, and it seems like most of the apps are okay. last week was buddy's day, and it was successful (there were around fifty of us). and now, all the apps are busy with their sigsheets, and we members are getting ready for Arki Forum Week. only two weeks left before that week comes, and i'm getting worried coz a lot of things need to be done. i hope this will be a very fun and successful week for all of us! :D

well, it's actually not all fun. there were some issues and problems encountered, but what the hell. i will be a part of arki forum no matter what. =)

new jersey to new york

i don't know how to start this entry. i'm staring blankly on the screen for almost 30 minutes already, and i still can't decide what to write about first.

maybe i should start with my family.

if you guys don't know, i'm the only one who went back here in the philippines. my parents and sister are all in new jersey, working. so now, i'm living in our grandparents' home, with them, aunt and cousin, which is only a street away from ours.

i'm getting used to this setup, though sometimes i still don't feel good about it. i really didn't know the feeling of living with grandparents till i came back and started staying here. it's entirely different than living with your own parents. grandma always waits for me to come home even if i arrive early in the morning. unlike before, my parents just sleep and let me enter the house even without them knowing.

but it doesn't matter anymore. it's better to live with them than look for my own place and do all the decision-making on my own. besides, i'm so lucky to still have them here in the philippines to look after me.

to be honest, i don't talk to my family that often since i came here. a few phone talks and ym chats, and that's it. i dunno why, but it seems like i don't make effort to keep in touch with them. maybe it's because i'm just busy, or that i really don't feel like talking. oh well.

but now, i'm bothered with what's happening back there at jersey. my aunt here told me that my parents already have a new place in new york. which means, all of us will be moving there, and we're now new yorkers. my sister and cousin will also be looking for a new place still around jersey, and it looks like the whole group's splitting up. i'll be definitely staying with my parents at new york then. i think.

you know why they're splitting up? there are so many reasons. so many problems have been encountered since we moved there, that my parents decided to separate from my aunt and live on their own. as for my uncle, i don't know where he's going.

talk about going their own ways, huh. i feel so bad about it. though i really wanted to separate ourselves from our aunt. she's so... nah.

let's see what happens when i get back there. i don't even know when i'll be.

i'm supposed to talk about school also, but i'll just save it for next time.

an entry at last

wow. it's been more than a month since i have made an entry, and that means i've been here in the philippines for that long already. i'm still into some adjustments with my return here, but things are pretty much smooth sailing. honestly i didn't really plan to write down stuff right now, but since i made some business with my blogger account, i might as well bring back to life this blog on hiatus.

so, to start this entry, i am officially not a teen anymore.

goodbye teenage life. i turned twenty last 24th of june, which had a different twist on the start. we went to keziah's (my batchmate from upis) birthday party, which was on the 23rd, and left their place with some of our friends at around 9 in the evening. and so i thought to myself, i still have time to reach home, and then i'd be doing my countdown to 12 midnight and wait for all the text greetings while i'm lying on my bed.

apparently, that did not happen. we were dead stuck in heavy (and i mean heavy) traffic. we were sitting on the tamaraw fx that i was driving that time when the clock on the dashboard tick tocked its way to 12, and then everyone around me started singing happy birthday! and then all the text greetings came pouring in, with some calls from my friends. i was hell tired when i finally reached our doorsteps, but i was also hell sure that it's a memorable one.

what about school?

well, i'm only taking 16 academic units for this semester, but hopefully i'll be getting around 19 for the next. i'm actually in the middle of my academic hell days right now, with all subjects having deadlines or exams this coming week, so i should be doing something productive while it's still a weekend.

as for my org life, things are doing great. i was appointed executive secretary on the spot by our chair leni, and i accepted it. some doubts at first, but i thought to myself, why not if i believe i can do something for arki forum? besides, the org is a big barkada that i'm part of. and i'm so proud that i am. same with arkaira, arki's performing org.

i'm also starting to meet new people now, and it's been nice knowing them. most of them are younger than me, coz of course we're getting old in arki and the student numbers of the people now are like 05-*****. haha. and when they tell me (or see in their AF app forms for the apps) that they were born 1988, i was like, damn i'm old!

oh well. that's how college life goes. people enter UP, study, graduate and leave. i'm supposed to only have 2 years left before i graduate, but since i'm already delayed coz of my leave last semester, it's stretched to three. at least that means longer stay here before i go back to america for good.
