reality bites

10:05 am. just woke up a while ago. alone in the house, hoping that the survivor buff i ordered from the cbs store will be arriving at the door any minute.

i like watching reality tv shows: american idol, survivor, the amazing race, fear factor, and the list goes on (i was actually surprised that america has lots more realities that're not being shown in the philippines). though many people say they're lame and just scripted, i find them interesting. i became so attached to them that i'd always check their websites for daily updates.

the results at the end of the episodes are the most awaited ones. it'd be a real shocker for the fans of the contestant who gets the boot.

i watched the results show of american idol last night. i'm rooting for vonzell. and i was sad (but not really surprised) that she's in the bottom 3. i'm not even a fan of constantine, but i was so shocked (like many of us) that he was eliminated before some people i don't think should have stayed.

it was constantine's first time in the bottom 3, and he already got the boot. IMO, scott should have left before him. i dunno why he was even in the top 3, along with carrie and bo. he's like a cat with too much lives, as an article i've read puts it. but i dunno with anthony. i think he performed well this week, so i removed him from my personal chopping block.

oh well. reality shows. said to be scripted, but still give the shock. i was never a fan of constantine, but i was so dissapointed and mad that he had to go. what went wrong with america?

i just hope vonzell pushes through. singing "emotions" last night made me think, is she a destiny's child member? hehe. i want her sharps and flats gone though.

countdown

2:36 am. few more minutes left before i take a much-deserved rest, after exhausting myself with work.

on friendships

6:38 pm. just got home from work. damn tired. it's been a very long day. not to mention some people pissin' the hell off of us.

well, i've decided to quit my job. i'm getting sick of it actually, but that's not the reason i gave them. i don't want them to know that i'm done with this crap going on coz they'll just tell me to just not mind it and hang on. i'll be leaving for florida this may, and stay at my aunt's place (i haven't seen her for a very long time now). i so cannot wait to get there. and of course, weather there is way too better than here, so i might as well grab the opportunity of feeling hot and humid again like i used to.

the sad thing though is that i'm gonna leave all my friends there. yup, i've made great bonds with some of them, and i know they're upset coz i'm leaving them. i felt so sad when ebony told me that she might cry when i leave. and, i have no idea if mike already knows about it. he's like my best friend there.

i've learned a lot from them. especially that i'm still adjusting to my new life here. they really help me. and they're my first friends ever here in america.

the feeling's back. the feeling i had when i left my filipino friends almost 3 months ago now. so painful.

and so the friendship topic goes. i was browsing my blockmate's blog a long time ago when i felt like clicking the link to one of his friend's blogs. her comments to him kinda intrigued me, so i went to her page, and there. i found out she moved here also, but in new york. i read one of her posts about missing her friends she left.

yup, i so agree with what she said. i'm feeling it right know. i have friends here now, but i miss the tabing-ilog (as she puts it) kind of friendship, where your friends are friends too. barkada. i don't have it here. and i've left a lot of them in the philippines.

i was lying on the couch, glued to the tube, when i didn't realize that rika was ym-ing me. so when i got to the computer, she was logged out already, and so i just read the messages she left. but it wasn't her words that hit me. the image she used in her profile was her with two of our friends. best friends to be exact. i just thought, i should have been in that picture with them, wearing the same smile as theirs... but no, i'm too far.

to all the people whom i've shared a lot of moments with at the cinemas, thank you. i'll be back next year.

to all my friends in the philippines, see you all soon. and i mean soon.

post-april fools

time/date check: 11:25 pm, april 3
weather: getting better coz it's spring. but curse the endless rainfalls.

it was april first of 2002, two weeks before my high school graduation, when i was rushed to the hospital because of some heart problem. the doctor found out that i have a case of arrhythmia, in which the heart beats irregularly. i could barely walk that time, and i had no choice but to undergo so many check-ups and stuff.

the next year, april first was one of those darn days when i was coughing out blood (ugh) and i had to do many stuff because first year college was ending then. i remember taking the trig finals with lots of tissue on my hand coz, erm, you know, i didn't wanna see blood on my paper. bloody red marks of the professor's pen would have been enough.

but this past april fools day, i had a way too different experience. an awesome one that is.

i went to philadelphia with my cousin mae and her friends sam and jv. the moment we got in the car and started traveling many many miles to liacouras center, we were only playing songs from just a single cd again and again.

maroon 5.

we went to their concert!

when we saw them enter the stage, i couldn't believe i was there. they've been one of my favorite groups even before i got here in america, so it was really like a dream come true for me. well, it's because i used to watch them only on tv, but now i saw them perform live.

all the people were standing and dancing and singing like crazy. like we did. haha. and thanks to our new digicam with a big memory space, i sort of videotaped almost the whole concert. we've been playing it here in the computer for so many times already.

here are some pics. oh, we're not really close to the stage. the guy on the big screen to the right is adam levine, the group's vocalist. the last pic is with my cuz mae (i got a haircut finally btw).

i just realized, the transition from heart and blood to maroon 5 is kinda weird. hahaha.

there's a second thing about april first. i got a mail from jersey city, and... haha. will tell about it some other time.

on other news, i'm starting to get bored with my job. i might stop soon. just have to wait for a few more weeks before i'm done. thanks to that bitchy manager. and, daylight saving time has started, so the time difference here and in the philippines is just 12 hours now.
