batangas

i just thought of putting some pictures here to support my previous updates. two batangas pics now. anyway, the getaway took place last october 18-21.

clockwise from left: jiddu, meg, jax, loz, me, jik, maicah, pat and kay

beach freaks.

i wanna go back there! hahaha.

fireworks display

just got home a while ago from riverbanks marikina. i went there with tita led, tito boy and raffy to watch the big fireworks display which took place around 12 midnight. many people came to witness the event, plus there was a concert where we saw bayani agbayani and ai ai delas alas perform.

the display was breathtaking. ang ganda talaga. i couldn't even stop myself from taking pictures. here are some of them by the way.

nice, eh?

happy new year to all of you guys and gals! :)

my phone

i almost forgot.

i lost my phone last december 8. some crook took it habang nag-uusap kami ni loz inside the up-philcoa jeep. ang galing nga eh, nalaslas niya pocket ko without me knowing it! haay. okay, okay... medyo tanga rin ako in a way. haha. actually, mas nanghihinayang ako sa texts at images dun kaysa sa phone itself. hahaha. andaming memories na dun eh. *sniff*

so i'm using my 3200 now, the one i blogged about months ago. sayang nga lang, wala pang laman, at di ko na mababalik yung pictures namin dati. anyway, my new number is 09214290409. text niyo ko ah. :)

updates

five months of not posting here means lots of stories and stuff to put here NOW. hahaha... i don't even know how and where to start.

***

last semester.

first semester turned out good. i didn't get any failing grade, but i got a 3.0 on arch 26, that damn structural subject. my pre-final standing was 1.75, but i didn't study for my finals and got a very low grade of **%. hahaha. nakakahiya eh. my other grades are okay naman.

my life had highs and lows. obviously, because of our tight and busy schedule in arki, i had the chance of getting closer to my friends in the college. tambay, mcdo sessions, movie-watching, hanging-out (sometimes in the car), cracking jokes, laughing at each other... those are some of the things i won't forget about my barkada. and, i also got more active with arki forum and arkaira, being part of their execoms.

on the other hand, i lost contact with my high school friends, and even had conflicts with some of them, which are not yet resolved up to now. well, they're just cases of misunderstanding, i think. my friend convinced me to fix this mess now, but i don't think i'd like to do it now. i need more time to think and prepare myself.

september 18, a letter came from the us embassy, informing us about our schedule for the medical exam and interview for immigration to the united states. i was so shocked that i couldn't even talk to my friends or even attend my classes. good thing i have my friends like pat and loz, who comforted me and made me accept the situation much easier.

the semestral break.

so, my mom told me not to enroll for the second semester. wala naman na akong magagawa eh. the papers are in. i just have to enjoy the remaining weeks of my stay here in the philippines.

october 18, the arkikada (pat, jik, jax, jid, loz, maics, kay, meg and i) went to batangas again. we stayed their for four days. all of us really had fun. swimming, kayak, volleyball, frisbee, movies, walking, running... lahat na ginawa namin! but in the end, parang bitin pa rin ako. hahaha. at least we enjoyed every moment of it.

after that, wala na masyadong nangyari saken until...

second semester.

i did not enroll anymore. it sucks, obviously. i went to school many times just to visit my friends (miss ko na sila!) and do some org stuff. i helped my batchmates with the lantern parade (sayang nga lang, we didn't get any award) and practiced singing christmas songs with arkaira for our yearly caroling. for three days, we were able to collect 12,500 pesos! sobrang natuwa kami!

christmas break.

i'm stuck here in our place, doing nothing but eat, sleep and watch tv shows. at least i get to hang-out with my family more often than before. lola needs us so much now, because she has breast cancer and just had her operation a few weeks ago. good thing she doesn't need chemotherapy anymore. thank God.

christmas day was a-okay, with the usual gift-giving during the noche buena. i didn't get any gift other than cash. haha. napapagastos na naman ako. and for three days (27-29), raffy and i stayed at the condo para may kasama si ate. we kept ourselves busy with his gameboy. di namin matapos donkey kong country 2!

***

ayun. diary mode na naman ako. haha. anyway, we're planning to leave on the 29th of january. a few weeks left na lang. i still have lots of things to do. i can't even start packing up my stuff!

more of the tragedy

watched cnn a while ago... more than 115,000 people are dead, while thousands are still missing. in indonesia alone, 52,000+ people lost their lives, while other countries (there are 12 affected countries btw) have large numbers of casualties too. the numbers are expected to rise up to the next few days, and might reach up to a total of 150,000 or more. 6,700 of those missing are foreign tourists, who just went to those countries just to have fun, relax, and have a good holiday celebration.

i stayed glued to the tube to catch every detail i could get. seeing amateur videos of the actual tragic scenes, video footages of dead people and their relatives crying so hard over them, images of those still missing, and a lot more really made me feel so bad. this is one event in history that no one would ever forget. it made me realize that i am still lucky to be here in this world.

i send my condolences to everyone who are in terrible grief of losing a big part of their lives now, and pray for the souls of those who departed.

tragedy

finally... after a few months, i'm back. honestly, i planned not to post here anymore, but something changed my mind.

i am very sad to know that more than 80,000 people (and counting) died due to the earthquake and tsunami disaster last sunday. grabe, day after christmas pa talaga. the earthquake started west of sumatra, then sent 40-feet high waves to india, sri lanka, maldives, malaysia, thailand and indonesia. majority of the casualties are from indonesia, around 45,000 already. many are still missing.

much more disturbing, a third of the casualties: children.

sheesh. seems like the laws of nature are already sending signals to humans. time for us to have a dramatic change in our lives, i think.

gotta sleep now... lots of updates when i get back.
and i mean lots of updates. man, it's been months since i last posted here!

2005... malapit ka na.
